Who we are

Cannary is a precision QA company building hyperspectral sensing tools for the cannabis industry. We combine advanced imaging, spectral science, and real-time analytics to detect contaminant risk before it’s visible — empowering processors to prevent costly batch failures and elevate quality across the supply chain.

Current detection methods for contaminants and mold rely on late-stage lab testing and unreliable manual inspection — too slow, too subjective, and too expensive when a batch fails. We believe early, non-destructive detection is the missing layer in cannabis QA. By bringing spectral diagnostics to the trim table and beyond, we give processors a faster, smarter way to protect product quality, ensure compliance, and build trust in every gram.

How it works

Trimmed buds are placed in a tray and scanned using a compact hyperspectral imaging sensor. The system collects a rich spectral “fingerprint” for every bud — revealing early signs of mold-related stress like moisture shifts and pigment loss.

Our onboard processor runs real-time analytics (or custom machine learning models) to detect spectral anomalies.

Each bud or batch of material is analyzed, and scored, giving operators an immediate view of what’s safe, risky, or trending toward contamination.

Risky product can be flagged, diverted, or documented before packaging and testing — saving thousands per batch and supporting GMP compliance.
